Stephen Yearick- The New King of Bridal

New stephen yearick1.jpgYork Bridal Fashion Week was electrifying,  with enough sparkle, skin, and sensation to thrill buyers and brides alike. Low backs, illusion necklines, glimmering embellishments, novel fabrics–all showcased on beautiful women with beautiful bodies–every collection from every designer is sheer enchantment to behold.  However, one designer stood head and shoulders above others (possibly literally as he is quite tall!).  As soon as you stepped foot into his showroom you felt as though you walked into a bridal candy-land where gowns of the the most enthralling hues hung lavishly from the racks–soft rose mauves with gold lace accents, delicate pink prints overlaid with glistening white lace and tulle overlays, bouquets of embroidered spring blossoms on sexy fit and flare silhouettes.  The Stephen Yearick and YSA Makino collections were the most exciting collections seen at Market this year!

Was this April in Paris?  No, it was more thrilling than that, more sophisticated, more bold, and– dare we say– more grand.  It was like April in New York.  The Ballgowns are grand–just like New York is grand, with skirts that can be as full as a bride’s imagination.  Illusion necklines, low backs, floating sleeves, lavish laces all harken back to a time when New York bustled with grand ladies of fashion, and we could think of none other than Leigh Price of Stephen Yearick to dress these women!

Fit and flare gowns are as sexy as ever, with semi-sheer panels, luxurious laces and fully beaded bodies.  These are not for the faint of heart.

Mr. Price’s new collection is a tour-de-force, a truly New York and quintessentially American collection,  and one of the most exciting bridal collections seen in years.  The breadth of his collection–from ballgowns that are at once both editorial and wearable to fit and flare gowns that are feminine, sensual, and glamorous–attest to Mr Price’s ability as a designer of extraordinary talent. His use of color is absolutely on point–always within the pallet of bridal and yet so alluring and varied in shades of roses, golds, pinks, and even lavenders.

These gowns and many others are coming soon to Anjolique!  Book your appointment online http://www.anjolique-bridal.com or call us 704-892-6450

Vintage meets Modern flare

amalia carrara back

Loving the view from behind! There is something incredibly romantic about a long sleeve gown with a low back–it is revealing and yet seductively romantic at the same time. With its soft hint of color, this gown alludes to a more traditional time and in some respects it does give a glance towards tradition. However our modern bride will love the curve hugging pattern of the dress, the open bare back (which surely her mother would not have worn!) and -dare we say it– the all important “booty scoop” that is all the rage today. Thus,  what may seem to be  vintage lace has been reborn into a 21st century masterpiece of bridal fashion. It definitely helps that legendary designer Eve Muscio of the eponymous Eve of Milady Bridals created  this stunning gown delicately embellished with moonstone and crystal.

Romancing the Ballgown

2016 is seeing a resurgence of interest in the Ballgown.  Soft, romantic and alluring, these are definitely not like gowns worn by your mother or grandmother!  Think more along the classic lines of the soft tulle and lace as seen in movies with Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor from the 1950’s.  Whether fashioned with an illusion neckline or with a feminine strapless sweetheart, this silhouette is flattering on all figures.
